DJ Course and Ableton Course FAQs

Please reach us at contact@musicworkflowacademy.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Are the DJ and Ableton courses suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. Both courses start from the very beginning and build up step by step. The DJ Course starts with setting up your equipment and your first mix, and the Ableton Course starts from a blank project, so you do not need any experience.

How do the online courses work?

Each course is a library of on demand video lessons hosted on Thinkific. You can start as soon as you enrol, then watch at your own pace on a laptop, tablet or phone, wherever you are in the UK or the world.

How much do the courses cost?

The DJ Course is £197 for 155 lessons and the Ableton Course is £197 for 166 lessons. You can get both courses together for £297, which saves you £97.

What equipment do I need?

For the DJ Course, a beginner DJ controller and a pair of headphones are enough to start. For the Ableton Course you need a computer that runs Ableton Live. A MIDI keyboard and decent headphones or speakers help, but they are not essential on day one.

Do you offer DJ lessons in Chester?

Yes. Music Workflow Academy is based in Saltney, on the edge of Chester, and Omar teaches 1 to 1 DJ and Ableton lessons in person in Chester and online anywhere. Visit our Services page to book a lesson.

Can schools book Music Workflow Academy?

Yes. We work with schools on DJ and music production courses and workshops, and Omar helped shape a DJ GCSE curriculum at The Grange school in Hereford, where his student achieved an A*. See MWA for Schools at musicworkflowacademy.store/schools for details.

Who teaches the courses?
